| <p><strong>Coordinator's Report:</strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';">AARG met at Texas DLA on March 25. We appointed new members to our Program Planning Committee to provide opportunities for developing new leadership in Texas DLA. We nominated Doris Owens, Director of Distance Education, St. Philip’s College to serve as Co-Chair with me in the AARG group for San Antonio and the surrounding area. My term as Co-Chair will continue until March 2009, and Doris will serve until March 2010. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';">Susan Algelt, Distance Learning Services Coordinator, Education Service Center, Region 20, and former Co-Chair served the Alamo Area Regional Group in an excellent manner. She assisted in coordinating many of the group meetings. She developed reports and involved a lot of the members in all of the events. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><font face="Arial" size="2"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">The Alamo Area Regional Group sponsored a </span></font><b><i><font color="blue" face="Arial"><span style="font-weight: bold; color: blue; font-style: italic; font-family: Arial;">Lunch and Learn Meeting</span></font></i></b><font face="Arial" size="2"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"> on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the <b><i><font color="blue"><span style="font-weight: bold; color: blue; font-style: italic;">Advanced Technology Center</span></font></i></b>, 312 Tinker Road, part of the Alamo Area Community Colleges from 11:30am to 1:00pm. The presentation was made by Ms. Estelita Young, Wimba Representative for Texas, and several university and college representatives that are currently using Wimba to deliver their online programs. The Lunch and Learn Session was well attended: we had 28 members from ISDs, the private sector, SAC Online, UT Health Science Center, the military, Central Texas College, UTSA, OLLU, Booz Allen Hamilton, and other organizations. </span></font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><font face="Arial" size="2"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">Ms. Estelita Young sponsored a great lunch for the attendees and I secured the ATC Center via the great hospitality of Mr. James Dickerson, Director of the Advanced Technology Center. The ATC was a great venue with adequate parking and great technology capabilities! </span></font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><font face="Arial" size="2"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">The AARG group will sponsor other similar Lunch and Learn Meetings throughout the year. Many thanks to my Co-Chair, Susan Altgelt, who assisted in much of the promotion for this event. </span></font></p>

Local members who have submitted presentation proposals will be encouraged to present shortened versions of their sessions during this mini-conference. CPE hours may be available for K-12 teachers.
</li><li>May 8, 2008 11:30 am - 1:00 pm Location: TBD Program: Conference Wrap-up Members will be asked to share information from their favorite session/s at the March conference. </li></ul>
<p><b>Past Events</b><br></p>A loyal contingent of the AARG braved a torrential downpour to attend the August 16th meeting hosted by Karta Technologies at their facility in San Antonio. Karla Ebert gave an overview of some of the projects that Karta Technologies is currently developing. Zach Tippets (Karta) and Dave Searcy (Randolph AFB) led discussions on audience analysis and Section 508 compliance.<br>

On the fun side, Jesse Diaz, Senior Multimedia Specialist, Northwest Vista College and Helen Torres, Director of SAC Online won first place in the Blackboard Dance Off, which was part of the final evening festivities at this year’s Blackboard conference. <br><br>The Alamo Area Regional Group held its annual membership drive on November 9 at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) in downtown San Antonio. President-elect Laurie Hogle joined the meeting via videoconference and discussed the many advantages of TxDLA membership. She also gave us a sneak peak at some of the exciting activities planned for the conference in March. Calence provided the refreshments and also a short presentation. <b><a href="http://www.txdla.org/documents/news/news-datacasting.htm">KLRN Hosts Alamo Area Regional Group Meeting </a><br><br></b>On October 4, 2006 San Antonio's public television station, KLRN, hosted the quarterly meeting of the Alamo Area Regional Group (AARG) and demonstrated their digital datacasting pilot project.
