The TxDLA Coastal Bend Regional Group had a group of 21 members including the Coordinators, Lori Genzer and myself. Attendees included: <br />

All attendees were welcomed and greeted. Each member introduced themselves and included where they were from and what type of distance learning they were responsible for or involved in. Introductions took a good portion of the meeting. The need for a new Coordinator and Co-Coordinator were discussed and members voted both Lori and I to head the group for at least one more year. Region 3's Linda Dueser and Gail Repka, and Libbie Paine of CCISD volunteered to help when needed. No other committees were created or discussed. Lori & I explained that we are videoconferencing folks, so we will lack in leading the group regarding online learning. <br />

TxDLA member recruiting techniques were discussed. One member suggested partnering with TCEA members from each of our organizations that attend TCEA but don't attend TxDLA. Region 2 shared that we always have a team of 5 ESC-2 Educational Technology employees from a different department attend TCEA, but have never attended TxDLA. <br />
<br />
Communication was also discussed. Members agreed quarterly meetings were a good idea to get networking meetings started. Members requested a new listserv under TxDLA be created specifically for Coastal Bend members to utilize for communication. The next TxDLA Coastal Bend Regional group meeting was scheduled by the group for May 17th from 4:15 - 5:15 to be held via videoconference. Future meetings will be schedule at the next meeting.</p> |
