Brenda Quintanilla Elected to Board Member-At-Large

Ms. Brenda Quintanilla, Director of the Teaching and Learning Resource Center and Instructional Designer Photo Brenda Quintanilla for Lee Community College, has been elected by the TxDLA membership to serve as an At-Large Board Member for 2008-2009. 

Quintanilla has experience in instructional design development, distance learning coordination, and staff/faculty professional development. She has been a member of TxDLA since 2006. She served on the Awards Committee in 2006-2007 and was the Program Chair for the 2008 TxDLA Conference. She currently serves as co-chair of the 2009 TxDLA conference alongside TxDLA President-Elect Mr. Bob Barnes. The 2009 conference is scheduled to be held April 6-9, 2009, in Corpus Christi.

Mr. Ken Conn, TxDLA President in 2006-2007, said Ms. Quintanilla is “a unique individual who brings creative ideas and a noticeable positive energy to a team. Her ‘get done’ attitude and level of commitment and dependability is not commonly found in a volunteer organization such as the TxDLA.” Upon hearing of her election to the board, Conn stated “the impact of electing Brenda Quintanilla to the TxDLA Board will be positively felt throughout the entire membership.” 

Mr. Bennie Tschoerner, Chief Information Officer for the association, shared Conn’s sentiments. “Brenda’s commitment to TxDLA and her attention to detail far exceed expectations” Tschoerner said, adding “she leaves no stone unturned and is, without question, a welcome addition to the TxDLA Board.” Dr. Kevin Eason, Chair of TxDLA’s Board of Directors said “Brenda’s knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm will be instrumental in helping to move our association forward.”

Ms. Quintanilla welcomes the opportunity to serve on TxDLA’s Board of Directors, and said “this association has such a great network of distance learning educators and offers members the chance to make great connections and meet people who are having a great time promoting what they love to do.” Quintanilla to
ok office effective September 10, 2008, and will serve through June 30, 2009.
