2008 Board Election Results  

The Texas Distance Learning Association 2008 Board Election results are in and have been tabulated.  Ken Rosier, Nominations and Elections Chair and his committee have certified the results of our recent board member elections. Elected to the 
K-12 Representative (2008-2011), the Corporate/Private Sector Representative (2008-2011), and the Chief Information Officer (CIO) are as follows:
   
  

Steve Welch, Distance Learning Specialist at the Education Service Center Region 18 (Midland, TX) was elected by the board to serve as the K-12 Representative (2008-2011). Welch has been at the ESC since 1997 and is currently responsible for the design, purchase, implementation, and management of the videoconferencing network for the Region 18 service area. Prior to his current position, he was at Midland College for 7 years. Welch recently attended the 2007 TxDLA Fall Leadership Workshop in Corpus Christi and is currently serves as a member of the TxDLA Information Committee.
 
 
Raymond Hartfield, Director, Government, Education and Medical (GEM) for AT&T, was elected to serve as the Corporate/Private Sector Representative (2008-2011). Prior to AT&T, he was Vice President of Global Services at VTEL where he specialized in custom conference centers, distance learning, telemedicine and judicial deposition solutions. At AT&T he provides research and technology planning for K-12 and higher education. Hartfield currently serves as the Committee Chair for Public Policy.
 

Bennie Tschoerner, retired Technology Director for the Paris ISD, was re-elected to the position of CIO. Tschoerner has also served on the 2006 and 2007 conference steering committee and, most recently, serves as the Information Committee Chair and a member on the Nominations & Elections Committee.
