Former TxDLA Officer and Current Member Has Died
Patrick Pluscht, TxDLA Chairman of the Board, praised Matt’s contributions to the organization. “I will remember him as a man of quiet strength and wisdom who possessed a good sense of humor. His contributions to TxDLA are much appreciated and he will be fondly remembered by those who knew him,” Pluscht wrote in a message to current and former Board members. Matt worked in Birdville ISD for 11 years, most recently as an instructional technology consultant, and was a true advocate for distance learning technologies. Matt led the district in the purchase and installation of numerous videoconferencing systems throughout the district and was instrumental in the development of several collaborative projects the district has shared with teachers and students around the state. Matt worked to bring a large number of district personnel into TxDLA, many of whom have served a very active role in the conference planning process over the years. Memorial and funeral services are planned at the Church of Latter-Day Saints, 3000 Old North Road in Denton. The memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 27, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held Thursday, June 28, 11:00 a.m. Flowers or a charitable contribution in Matt’s name will be made on behalf of TxDLA. Donations in memory of Matt can be made to:
