Vicki Traweek Elected Parliamentarian

The TxDLA Board of Directors elected Vicki Traweek, Director of Distance Education for Weatherford College, to serve as the Association's Parliamentarian, effective immediately. Vicki has been active in the area of two-way video courses, online courses, and high school dual credit classes for the past six years. She became the Distance Education Director in the fall of 2006. 

Vicki has an Associate of Arts degree from Weatherford College, a Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University, and a Masters of Education degree also from Tarleton State University. As an undergraduate at Tarleton State, she trained a state-award winning parliamentary procedure team for the Burleson FFA chapter while doing her student teaching. She also served on the Chapter Conducting Team for three years while a student at Azle high school. Vicki has been a member of the Texas Distance Learning Association for the past three years. Her presentation at the 2007 TxDLA Conference -- "The Treasure Within – What’s Really in That Online Course?" -- described how Weatherford College developed an online course evaluation instrument using the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Principles of Good Practice for Electronically Delivered Courses.
