Hey!!! How can I get more involved in the Texas Distance Learning Association???

It is actually really easy since we are generally a group of people that like to make things happen. There are many different ways to become more involved in the Texas Distance Learning Association ranging from somewhat involved to "What the heck have I gotten myself into???" Below are a few ways to get started in making your presence felt in TxDLA.

Dig in with your Regional Group!
Contact your Regional Group Coordinator(s) and make sure you know when and where your next regional group meeting is taking place. Are you unsure about who is/are your Regional Group Coordinator(s) and/or what regional group you're in? TxDLA regional groups are a way for you to connect, collaborate, and network with other members and potential members besides the annual conference.  You read that right, you do not need to be a current member of TxDLA to attend and participate in TxDLA regional groups. So if you know someone who you think would benefit from our group, introduce them to the TxDLA family through your regional group.

Join a Committee!
Becoming part of a committee is an easy way to jump right in and make an immediate impact. TxDLA has several committees with various tasks, so you can match your strengths up with the purpose of a specific committee. Below is a list of some of our standing committees. To learn more about our committees or to e-mail the current chair or members with questions, please visit our Committee page.

Attend Fall Leadership Work Shop!
Fall Leadership Work Shop (FLWS) is an annual event for our members who would like to become, or continue to be, involved in the many facets of TxDLA. Have you been asking yourself questions like, "I wonder how I could become more active in TxDLA?, What makes this organization tick?, How can I renew my enthusiasm and reconnect with the eight goals of TxDLA?" If you want to discover the answers to these questions and much more, then you should consider attending FLWS. Please visit FLWS2006 for details about the 2006 FLWS at Moody Gardens in Galveston September 27-29.
